Turkmenistan Addresses International Migration and Health Challenges


Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, 17 November 2014 — International Organization for Migration, in partnership with Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Health and Medical Industry and the State Migration Service, organized a roundtable on migration health. Working group had a meeting to develop a draft National Action Plan on Combating Human Trafficking (NAP)


Ashgabat, 26 July, 2014 – Members of the working group came together to develop a draft of a National Action Plan on Combating Human Trafficking. Turkmenistan is a state party to a number of relevant international legal instruments on human rights, including combating human trafficking and strives to implement the relevant international obligations by taking concrete action. Turkmenistan adopted a national Law on “Combating Human Trafficking” in December, 2007 and the new article 1291 on TIP was included in the Penal Code in May, 2010. »Read more...

Turkmenistan proceeds with the development of a National Action Plan on combating human trafficking


Ashgabat, 24-25-July, 2014 – Members of the working group on combating human trafficking, which is composed of 16 representatives from Medjlis (parliament), law enforcement agencies, other government agencies and public organizations as well as non-governmental organizations, have increased knowledge and skills on planning and developing the National Action Plan on combating human trafficking (TIP NAP) at the 2-day training. »Read more...
