Judges strengthen their capacities on the rights of victims of trafficking

Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, June 7, 2018. In the beginning of June, International Organization for Migration/UN Migration Agency (IOM) organized two back to back trainings for judges from all regions of the country. Main topic ofthe trainings is rights of victims of trafficking including the rights to an effective remedy and ensuring these rights during the trial process. Trainers Pool on TIP Issues Was Strengthened Among Turkmen Law Enforcement Officers, Judges and Advocates

On May 10-13 of 2016, the UN Migration Agency (IOM) in Turkmenistan organized a four-day training of trainers on “Multidisciplinary and Multisectoral Approach to Investigation, Prosecution and Adjudication of Trafficking Cases” in Dashoguz, Dashoguz velayat (region). The training of trainers (ToT) was organized for representatives of law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, judges and advocates of Dashoguz and Balkan velayats within the framework of the three-year project on “Strengthening the National Action Plan on TIP in Turkmenistan to ensure coordinated assistance and a victim-centered approach”, funded by the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, U.S. Department of State, launched in October 2015. »Read more...
